It has been a while since I have posted something on my blog and my thoughts about the blog lead me to Proverbs 18-21, which says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue. And they that love it shall eat the fruit of it”.
We are now in the sign of Gemini (May 20-June 21). The sign of Gemini is known as the sign of the twin and it is ruled by the planet Mercury which is said to rule communication. What does this all mean? I will try my best to explain.
I love the summer, that period of time which begins at the end of May and lasts until the end of September. Summer usually brings opportunities to socialize with family and friends. I think of doing fun things like having coffee in the park with my friend Billy or attending a backyard BBQ to celebrate my birthday or attending a wedding on a weekend in May or June. It is during these social times that people have to talk to each other, expressing both the joy and the sorrow that life has brought them. Some of the things the people around you will say during these social times can change your life and the world around you in an instant that is if you are paying attention.
So, last Sunday I made arrangements with my friend Billy to have coffee in the park on Monday at 9am. I placed a call to him at 7:45am on Monday to let him know that I was ready and that I would meet him in the park at the appointed time and place. The sun was shining it was a beautiful day. I was really looking forward to coffee and conversation. When I called Bill and asked him if he was ready his response to me on the phone was something I did not expect. Bill told me he was not going to meet me in the park because his back was bothering him and he was in real pain and that all he wanted to do was go back to bed. Despite my efforts to encourage him that getting out into the fresh air might help him he refused to go. I was a little disappointed and hung up the phone. I decided to go ahead with the day anyway. Soon after being on the phone with Bill I was getting into my motorize wheelchair to go outside I was suddenly overcome by a terrible pain in my lower back I could hardly move. It took me at least twenty minutes to adjust myself. I was affected by Bill’s comments about his back pain, it was more than just talk it was an experience that stayed with me for a week or more.
I love going to wedding during this time of year people always say the kindest things to me and to those even if they do not know me well, they leave me feeling really good about my and the world around me if only for a moment.
When I am in a struggle and in need of positive thoughts I put on one of my favorite songs Steve Wonder’s “I Just called to say I love you”. This song reminds me of all the good things I have experienced in life.
Over the next four weeks it is so important to be mindful of what we say to ourselves and to others but mostly to ourselves. Think twice about what you are about to say and remember there are two side every story. In Gemini it is important to know both sides of the story before making a decision about anything.
If you are thinking and feeling like you are lacking something whether it be money, or a job, love, a relationship it is best not to mention it. It is however, better to be telling yourself that you have all you need to pay your bills and take care of all your needs and it is better to see yourself as someone who is capable of doing something you love and that the world of people around you love having you as a part of their lives. Remember that your success in life depends upon your ability to talk about and see yourself being successful before it you are a success. I am not saying that the lack you are currently experiencing isn’t real of course it is but in order for your life to change from lack to abundance you have to be ready will and able to think it and tell yourself about it first.
The statement above from Proverbs is really about how you talk to yourself. Are you, kind with your words to yourself giving your spirit energy and life or do you put yourself down which can kill your spirit and leave you with no energy. What you say to yourself can make or break not just your day but your life. Whatever positive seeds you can sow with your words do it now and do it often so that you can reap a harvest of happiness success later.
