I use a power chair to get around town. On days when I am not working and the weather is good I would drive into town and do 'life', you know - shop, meet with friends, have lunch - whatever. As I travelled to and from town on a daily or weekly basis I noticed the sidewalks and roads were not fit for travel by someone like me using a power chair. Cracks in the sidewalks or roads are never good to the tires and wheels of a power chair. As I travel in the chair I am always looking for the smoothest road but it seems like I am always on the road that's most broken, cracked and in general disrepair. I would tell myself someday "someone is going to fix this road someday and the path in front of me will be a smooth one - I just have to be patient and wait." If you speak to my mother she will tell you that patience is not easy for me especially when it comes to waiting for something that I think I need.
After waiting for quite some time for the roads to be repaired, I settled in to the belief that the roads and sidewalks will probably always be broken and cracked and it's something I'm going to have to live with.
One day while travelling into town with my power chair I noticed a city worker marking up the road and the sidewalk with different colors (blue for water). I knew what that was all about, they were getting ready to tear up the street. Seeing this I was both excited and upset. I was excited because the smooth path that I had asked for was on its way. I was upset because the broken and cracked road that I had gotten used to was going to be blocked and torn up. I would have to find another way to get to where I was going. I was suddenly detouring all over town. Every time I saw a street that would connect to another familiar street it was closed and unusable. This made my travel time longer and more frustrating . What was supposed to take four months to complete took six. In fact, it was just last week that the orange and black cones were taken off the sidewalks and roads. Removal of the cones revealed beautiful new smooth sidewalks and roads for as far as the eye could see.
The moral of the story is - more often than not what we put in our minds does become part of our day to day life and most of the time it happens when we least expect it - so be patient.
A friend of mine just yesterday revealed that she won the lottery. It was a small amount, less than one hundred dollars but more than fifty. Like most of us she has been playing the lottery for a while - having patience and allowing time to pass allowed her to reap some benefit.
For me the new sidewalks and roads in my neighborhood are a miracle, yes it took a long time, about 2 years from beginning to completion. Patience is something we all need to invest in.
We are now in the sign of Sagittarius, (Nov 21 – Dec 20) for me this is an energy/sign in which people from all walks of life express a desire for something different or new to be happening in life. Some are looking for a release from the struggles of life. Lack of food, money, shelter or a better relationship with loved ones.
Entering into the sign of Sagittarius we are moving away from a sense of darkness and sadness to a time of hope and light. Instead of being stuck in the problems of the past we are about solving problems and moving forward to a bright and prosperous future. Sagittarius is a time when love is expressed and truth is revealed, it is a time when you can call those around you into action and get actual co-operation. Sagittarius is a time when miracles of love and life are revealed. Now is the time to be thinking big about what you would like to see happen in the world around you. Remember that what you think about you will bring about whether it happens in five minutes, five days or five months all miracles or wish can come true. It happened to me it can happen to you.
