The easiest method of meditation that I have come across in all my years of working in this field has been what I call the heartbeat method. Find a comfortable place to sit, while you are wide awake. Turn all outside noises off that you can…..TV, Radio, Cell Phones etc. and feel for your heartbeat. Just concentrate on your chest until you can feel it. Then track your pulse outward from that point. As you focus on your pulse you will be able to sense it all the way to the tips of your toes and fingers. In this way you will be able to relax. If you are tired when you do this, you will find you get a very restful sleep as you will drift off to sleep in a very relaxed state.

The purpose of this is to focus solely on your own well-being, and by focusing on your heat, you will block everything else out for at least a little time, thus enabling your body, mind and spirit, to heal.
